Oh my love!

YAKAMOZ metallic pigment GREAT! I really like using this to make tanagram glasses or even milky way glasses with epoxy. Gold drops on the edges of the lighter and darker tinted lenses, madness! It adds incredible effervescence to almost anything, and when mixed properly, it's just perfect. The fine powder mixes easily, I don't get clumps and it's not that difficult to mix into the epoxy before I can use it. I need more of this, I've used it many times! Needless to say I will buy it again!

Pros
  • Wide application
Cons
  • Slightly torn

I used quite a bit of this metal pigment powder in a small amount of resin and noticed that the metal particles were clustering on the top/back. The front of the resin piece will be more of a golden brown color after demoulding. I've tried several different mica's as well as liquid piñata gold and they all tend to pool on the back of the piece instead of settling on the front. With the liquid colors from Tim Holtz I had better luck getting a nice golden color with resin.

Pros
  • YAKAMOSE metal powder 5
Cons
  • Damaged

Need lots of pigment

Edit: I continued and realized what I had done wrong. I didn't use enough pigment. When I used a 1:1:1 resin/hardener/pigment ratio the result was a beautiful shiny gold. This suggests that this is a small bottle and you need to use a lot of powder per project so it doesn't last too long. Just a reminder that more pigment means longer curing time. It doesn't matter, but you might need to consider it if you have a deadline. Original: The color looked great when stirred, but as soon as the object

Cons
  • Not bad but...
