Lose your keys, for good: Unlock your door using your entry code on the keypad, and leave the bulky keychain behind. For use with your smartphone or smart home system, Yale Access Upgrade Kit is required (sold separately). Auto-Lock for peace of mind: You didn’t forget to lock the door, your lock did it for you. Yale Assure locks are super easy to install and are guaranteed to fit standard doors (doors 1-3⁄4” to 2-1⁄4” thick. Doors under 1-3⁄8” require thin door kit). Stop hiding keys: Sharing codes is the new hide-a-key. Give unique codes to friends, family, and other people you trust, and never put a key under the doormat again. Upgrade to Wi-Fi with Yale Access: Use just the keypad for now, and upgrade to a smart lock whenever you’re ready. Our Yale Access Upgrade Kit (sold separately) lets you use your phone as your key.

If you are hesitant to buy this ZWAVE lock, don't hesitate.

This is by far the best smart lock I have installed and/or used. I have installed and serviced Kwikset and Schlage locks and this one is the best. It connected instantly, worked great and the battery life is incredible. I hooked them up to a Vera Home Controller and they are aces. The only time this can get weird, which isn't really Yale's fault, is when the door isn't perfectly aligned or you have to manually push the door in to even out seals around the frame. That issue aside, it's quiet…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Makes me angry

Quality lock but I missed a feature

I needed a good electronic lock to replace the Kwikset hand bolt. I looked at Kwikset and other brands of simple and smart electronic locks and chose this Yale for its design, quality, features and overall good reviews. It easily replaced the Kwikset latch and I didn't even have to change the locking bar. But I had to make the bolt hole deeper because that Yale bolt goes a little further. Not so hot what's up. Installation was easy and setup went well following meager instructions and YouTube…

Pros
  • Lose the keys forever: Open the door with the passcode on the keypad and leave the bulky key fob behind. Yale Access Upgrade Kit (sold separately) required for use with a smartphone or smart home system.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

  • Not as thick as other lock picks

I've installed several Yale Assure bars as well as other brands of HomeKit-enabled smart locks and this is by far my favorite! The black finish is very smooth and pairs well with our matte black hardware. If you want to control this with your smartphone, you need the Connected by August kit for the HomeKit integration. Alternatively, you can get the Yale Assure Lock SL with the August Connect, which are the same two pieces packaged in a larger box and cost $80-$90 more. To install this lock you
