If you have bandages, toe gauze or toe injuries, order Large so you have room at the top of the toe box. Even without a wrap, it fits slightly over the other leg. The sides are good, adjustable if you have a narrow foot. This is not the type of shoe for a lot of support. But protection is better than nothing! And velcro helps support. This is a fairly dense fabric, like sneakers. The shape of the boot and the velcro closure are comfortable, so with extra gauze, padding, etc. you can get on your feet easier.
