Observe the instructions! Here are some observations from my experience: 1) Chains enter the tube. Unroll and place in a warm room to relax. 2) Measure twice, cut once! I used a ruler and a circle cutter on a cutting mat. Very easy because the blade just rolls without much pressure. 3) Once the chain is on the soap window you can move it around to get the perfect fit. Once you use the included scraper, it gets stuck and you can't move it. If you need to align, remove it and start the process over. The attached documents have all the necessary instructions and it's easy if you follow them. Of course, my windows were only 11 7/8" x 33 3/4". I don't know how it would be if you had to consistently use them to close the sliding glass door 😊 These bathroom windows face our driveway and carport. It's a guest bathroom and at night with the lights on and the previous owners sheer curtains it's quite uncomfortable! None of my friends/relatives felt comfortable using this potty at night! Husband confirmed last night he could see the bathroom light glow but nothing else! Wow! Plus they look amazing!
