Review on Marinco CS6364N 50 Amp, 125V//250V Connector for Enhanced SEO by Kevin Garcia

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fork but decent quality.

. The deformation damping leaves a lot to be desired, as does the rear wire seal. built. I was happy with the thickness of the molded plastic (i.e. it didn't seem cheap or flimsy). The only spots that bothered me were the strain relief and the rear seal where the wire came out of the fork. The strain relief is weak at best. The design itself isn't bad, but it could be noticeably better. As you can see from the photo, the strain relief is just two plastic levers that snap into fittings on the fork body. If the manufacturer uses this approach, there must be small metal pins to keep these levers from popping out (which has happened more than once when I connected the wires to the connector assembly). Once assembled, the back of the connector will (should) naturally rest against the connector body and hold the wires in place. This brings us to the rear seal. The description says the plug has a weatherproof seal. It just isn't. The back seal is simply a thin rubber membrane that the wire (see photo) passes through as it exits the connector. While it probably behaves decently in light rain, it certainly won't handle anything medium or heavy. Water could very easily enter the connector assembly if exposed to anything remotely harsh weather conditions.𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: Would I buy again? Yes. However, due to the quality/technical issues mentioned above (poor strain relief and lackluster weather/back seal) it loses a star for being good but not great.

Pros
  • Simple design
Cons
  • Almost never
