I have a wall mounted fabric gate that is rolled up and installed outside our bedrooms to keep dogs out (if needed). Our new kitten decided my gate would make the PERFECT scratching post. although there are plenty of poles, boards and a scratching post nearby. I was looking for something to hang on the wall, similar to my gate but better suited to cat claws. Type: this. The size is actually very similar to my gate, both in width and height. When I saw the size of the mounting screws and anchors I had to come up with another solution as I really didn't want to drill holes in my walls anymore (we try to do repairs all over the house). I decided to take a chance and put double sided clear gorilla tape on both mounts and tape it to our closet door in the hallway (since it will be replaced anyway) - as long as it sticks there and can be pulled without moving, even after seeing the cat showed where she is she still chose my gate 😞 But we removed the gate while redoing the floors so he's finally starting to think that this post is the only thing he is now scratching allowed.
