I personally think that if you use them in a dark place (no light or outdoors at night) 1 per balloon is enough, but if you plan to turn on the light (we made it semi-dark) then you can use 2 per pear. But the price can't be beat! Simply pull the tab to use. SAVE THE TABES! I just put them in a ziplock bag and when I was done I just tucked the tabs back in and put them away for next time. TIP: If the light is dim or flickering, just press the bulb a little. Out of 100 headlights, we had one that flickered a little. I rolled it between my fingers and it was like new. I haven't tested how long they last, but other reviewers have said they last several months.
