Review on Garmin PT10 Dog Device Red Collar: 🐢 The Ultimate Training Accessory for Garmin Pro 70/Pro 550 by Jennifer Miller

Not as well made as Tri-Tronics

First of all I like the performance of this collar. "Phase" is a fantastic feature! The ability to remotely turn on the headlight is great when searching for your furry little one at night. The audible sound is also better than the previous Tri-Tronics because it's much easier to tell the collar is actually on and working. It used to be that you had to put your ear all the way to the collar to hear it, even though the dog could easily hear it. Also, the collar is cheap and not as durable as the previous version of the Tri-Tronics. While I like the fact that the remote is rechargeable, an old remote with a 9 volt battery would last a very long time. The remote control and device are very light and feel cheap. The charge on the collar lasts a day or maybe 2, whereas the previous version could last 4 to 7 days with continuous use. The previous version also came with very good charging, while the new unit is just a cable with a plug. Finally, the worst thing about the whole thing is the full garbage collar material. The previous version had a very strong plastic or rubber collar, but the new version is absolute rubbish. It looks like some kind of cardboard wrapped in plastic. Over time, the end of the collar will wear out and will need to be replaced fairly quickly. I'm not a photographer but you can see in the attached picture it's deteriorating pretty quickly after only 6 months of use. For comparison, the old Tri-Tronics collar stock was still in pristine condition when we finally retired it after 6 years of use. Overall I like the head light feature but the new collars and Garmin remote are worse in every way. compared to the original Tri-Tronics. Although it's not perfectly written, I hope it's helpful.
