The levers/gears in this actuator are either bent or so poorly made that they cannot travel full stroke without binding. I tested this before reassembling the door, thinking it would flatten out over time, but I was wrong. It was so difficult to open that the tether that hooks onto the metal arm activated by the handle actually flexed that arm's mouth and came off completely. When this happened the actuator was in the latched position so the door was effectively stuck closed. I had to pry open the inside doorknob and then tugged like crazy on the cable that operates the door lock before it finally came loose. Then it finally opened with the outside door handle. I'm sending it back for a refund and these guys really should get me a new interior door knob. I am very sad.
