Review on beyerdynamic DT1770 Pro Studio Headphone, DT1770 PRO (DT1770 PRO) by Sang-hoon Lee ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Wonderful quality, one hundred percent satisfied!

The packaging is a fairly spacious case, which contains the actual headphones themselves, spare-alternative ear pads and a pouch-compartment with wires: long straight and shorter twisted. Two pairs of ear cushions (velor and leatherette) - one on the headphones, and the second for replacement - are not just a spare wheel, as practice has shown, they change the sound of the headphones quite a lot. The sound with velor is more openly airy, lighter with lighter bass, less soundproofing. I will say right away - I didn’t like the velor version, despite the convenience of landing, it was completely ordinary. With leatherette ear cushions, the sound of the 1770, in my opinion, is revealed to the fullest in its unique quality. If you put on a 1770 with leatherette, then you immediately switched to the dark side of sound. 1770 renders a fairly compact, but quite normal scene for closed headphones. There is no feeling that everything plays flat in a row, the sounds are very clear, but without any sharpness, with very high timbre detail. The mids are slightly sunken, but the typical V-shaped frequency response of the 1770s is out of the question. With bass, everything is fundamental and to the point. These are not yet basshead headphones, but they are definitely approaching them. The top is well-designed, detailed to the smallest detail. It is not airy (it does not go to infinity), but it is without sibilants and without any sand. Again, everything is accurate, essentially, without gag. Absolutely uncharacteristic for modern beyerdynamic sound. In general, the headphones did not cause a WOW effect for me personally, but as a rule, devices with a WOW effect get bored very quickly and even begin to tire and piss me off. Headphones are great for critical listening to musical material when working with sound. But apart from professional use, these are one of the most interesting modern closed-back headphones with which you can enjoy listening to your favorite music recordings.

Pros
  • Very accurate sound, comfortable for long listening Exemplary in-depth stage (for closed headphones) Excellent detail All individual instrument parts are perfectly distinguishable in sound Great balance between analytical honesty and musicality cool design Very robust construction Excellent sound insulation Overall, a fairly comfortable fit. Two types of ear pads that seriously change the sound of the ears are included in the kit Great for audio work: critical listening But it's nice to just listen to music. The sound hardly changes when you move the headphones on your head. Excellent reproduction of sound differences between sources High sensitivity
Cons
  • The ear cups wrap around your head tightly enough and over time begin to press For professional headphones (narrow-special application) the price tag is too high, which is not very practical
