Review on SPARIN Tempered Glass Screen Protector for iPad 9.7 Inch, 6th Generation - Ultimate Protection for Your Device by David Barit

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not perfect but packaged well, great install kit, great customer service

UPDATE: I've added 2 stars to my original review. A few days after posting a 3-star review complaining about an apparent quality control issue (particles stuck to the underside of the tread *inside* the liner), I received a direct email from a company representative, who apologized for the problem and was free to offer a replacement. I was very busy and didn't initially reply to the email, so a few days later I received a second email with the same offer. I emailed back, confirmed my shipping address, and a few days later a new package was sitting on my porch. I waited all night for it to come to room temperature, removed the faulty screen protector from the iPad and after very, very careful inspection and using the iPad screen cleaning installation kit installed a new screen protector. There were no adhesion issues, very few bubbles (all of which were easily removed in a matter of moments) and only one tiny defect that is literally invisible without a magnifying glass and careful search. I am very satisfied with the product replacement and pleasantly surprised by the exemplary customer service. (To reiterate, the company contacted me before I had a chance to contact them with an apology and an unconditional replacement.) For now, I will definitely be buying from them again in the future should the need arise. A small note: as mentioned in my original review, there are stickers to create a "hinge" to help position the screen protector prior to installation. I didn't use them this time and it was easier for me to carefully position the screen protector the old-fashioned way. If you purchase this product, I recommend practicing attaching the protective film with the hinges (BEFORE removing the film covering the adhesive!) so you can see if you find it easier to get it on correctly with or without them place - I'm sure The choice will vary between buyers. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have used tempered glass screen protectors on a variety of devices and the feedback on them has led to high expectations. I was amazed at how well it was packaged: a book-like folder made of thick, semi-rigid cardboard with a separate "installation kit" inside, along with the screen protector itself in a protective sleeve and an inner frame to keep everything in place. protected. Contrary to my experience with several other similar (smaller) brands of protectors, the installation kit was complete and hooray! -- The "wet" napkin was actually wet. (Be careful when opening the install kit; I accidentally tore off a small portion of the guide.) The first thing that struck me was the guide, which was more complete/complicated than I expected, as well as a note to follow YouTube tutorial video. The video appeared right where it should have been, but I immediately noticed that it skips 1 step in the printed instructions (use the dry cloth after the damp cloth but before the microfiber cloth) and doesn't show or mention the hard cards (about the size of a credit card) to remove bubbles from under the protective film in the final step of installation. A very useful feature of the install kit was the "loop" stickers that allow you to pre-install and then rotate the protective film. sideways to deep clean the iPad screen, then simply rotate it into position to install it in the right position. at least in theory. I still had to be very careful with tread positioning because the decals still allow for a little more lateral wobble than maybe absolutely necessary. At this point the protection was in place and starting to stick to the iPad's screen as things got a little sour. Before using the installation kit, I polished the iPad with a clean microfiber cloth until it was shiny. I then used the damp cloth from the installation kit, being careful to cover every tiny part of the surface, and then gently wiped with the dry cloth from the kit. I then polished the iPad using the microfiber cloth from the install kit and then the included "dust catcher" (a large sticker that needs to be tapped lightly across the entire screen to remove the dust particles that all previous steps somehow missed). . At each step, I carefully examined the iPad for dust, fingerprints, and other marks, and tested it from different angles in both direct and indirect light. (I can be a bit obsessive when it comes to screen protectors.) I checked the screen protector again from different angles and saw a few small blemishes that I assumed were probably dirt on the screen protector. I then removed the protective film from the back of the protective film, rotated it on the iPad and started squeezing out some bubbles. Only to find 7-8 particles causing constant bubbles scattered across the screen (not to mention the entire top left 1/8th of the screen protector doesn't hold up as well as the rest). I removed the protective film, cleaned some more, put the protective film back on and found the same particles in the same places. I then very carefully applied the "dust absorber" directly to the sticky side of the screen protector and reapplied a second time and was rewarded with only a few small bubbles that I was able to remove. At the moment the top left 1/8th of the screen protector seems to be sitting on the iPad screen and not adhering properly (that's a 1 star) and I'm a bit annoyed at how I had to clean one of solids that was supposedly clean and protected *tacky * the side of the protective film (this is the second asterisk). For now it seems to stay in place and stay clean but I'll have to think twice about another product from the same brand in the future.
