I had several shower files (metal file on one side, sanding board on the other side. The sanding board inevitably comes off and the metal file rusts. Then I buy another one soul hanging around.) It's a great alternative. Each time you use a file, attach a new piece of sandpaper to keep it fresh and efficient. It comes with two "strengths" of emery. You can use it in the shower. I usually only use it after a shower so I can sit. It only works on wet/soaked or dry feet. I like that it is more hygienic and effective as it is fresh with each use. I find black emery more effective than white. I don't "usually" use them, so I need "more hardness"; but then i don't wear white so my legs look "smooth". If I could do pedicures for a living, maybe I could? FULLY recommend this product.
