You still have a lot of choices when it comes to internal PCIe sound cards and most of these options I would ignore. Between good signal isolation, bloated dumb drivers, etc., there are many low-quality options that sound worse than just the on-board motherboard sound. The HT Omega Fenix is a welcome exception, and it's a great place to start exploring how your system will sound better than what's on the motherboard. Drivers are scarce and the UI might feel a bit dated, but the "sound" and functionality is great. This sound card isn't for everyone, with many not appreciating the superior sound or great music this card can play, but if you're looking to step up to something better, this is a great first choice to explore. Have fun while listening.
