I bought this dog bed over 6 months ago and it's holding up just as well as it did when I first assembled it. My 55 pound dog spends a lot of time on the bed and the woven platform fabric doesn't sag like I initially thought it would. As she runs down the hall, she sprints into the room and jumps into her bed like a baseball player trying to get to home baseplate. It's funny because she doesn't want the cats to come to her, but it's also a game she plays with the cats. The surface of the bed is still perfectly firm. Sometimes I put blankets or sheets on it, but they smell and are more difficult to clean than this bed. We have limited space now where to store her bed so I really appreciate that she is so LIGHT! If I have to go to the closet, I put the bed against the wall, take what I need, and then put the bed back. EASY TO ASSEMBLE: Place the strong hollow poles on the corner brackets and slide the platform fabric over the poles before all the pieces hit the corners. The last one is a bit tight, but that's good. It has to be tight to be permanent. Disassembly is just as easy. Just separate it starting from the corners. The shelves are made of some kind of metal. Corner angle made of hard, thick special plastic. The legs are thick and show no signs of wear. WASHING IS EASY! Brush off dirt and dog hair, then place the item in the washing machine. If there is an emergency and the dog gets dirty or something like that happens, take the entire bed outside and wash it with soapy water. I had to make it once, and while it was there, assembled and dried, a storm blew up. I've forgotten it! He has held up well on the outside. It really is an amazing bed that's impossible to destroy, well, almost. My friend fell on it while swinging in his chair and bent the frame. He's a strong man so he was able to bend it again and you can't even say it happened. The dog is still running down the hall, jumping and landing on the bed like it's the only way there and it still looks brand new! VERSATILITY: It can be used as is or with another bed or duvet on top. The last six months with the airflow underneath must have been fantastic. Now that the cold months have arrived I am very grateful that we were able to order her an orthopedic dog bed from the same manufacturer. It's about the same size and fits right over a raised bed. This gives her a little more warmth when we have cooler temperatures than summer. I'll post pics after it arrives and let you know how well they work together.
