My cat needed to be shaved due to a skin condition. He wanted to be combed, but cat combs are too rough. Even the boar's bristles hurt him. It was so soft and gentle that he could comb it without hurting him. He purred, rubbed his face, and rolled over. I have a feeling you could use this on naked kittens. I have to cream twice a day but he likes to be "combed" 3 times a day and he is dry. I carefully washed the brush and let it dry. Haven't lost a single bristle yet. We're both glad our time is back
