Symptom. The Canon Pixma TS9120 cannot print anything in black, including text, in normal mode, but it prints well in photo mode because photo mode uses a different BK-marked black ink. It can be tricked into printing normally in black when the "Print with all but PGBK (Black)" print option is selected. Replacing the Pixma 280 PGBK ink did not help. Replacing this Canon printhead with part number QY6-0090 resolved the issue. Easy to replace after removing the ink and lifting the black plastic piece surrounding the ink cartridges. Google Youtube to remove and replace videos. You must turn off and restart the printer to accept the ink cartridges. Now it prints great. I paid $150 for a TS9120 3 years ago. They are currently available from Revain for $800. Find out.
