Review on TOUHIA Aluminum Straight Connector Extrusion by Ryan Brunson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Surprisingly consistent - consistently wrong.

I've put a lot of thought into this review. They're relatively cheap, so I wouldn't expect them to be perfect. However, since the defects (1) are caused by the production method (as opposed to general hasty or inaccurate production standards); and (2) immediately preventing their intended use, I cannot rate them highly. Basically they seem to have drilled holes for the set screws AFTER cutting/shaping the top ridge (which runs between the exposed edges of the T-slot). This caused the metal to expand around the holes. I took measurements with a cheap caliper (see pics), but you can actually see the problem without too much trouble (see other pics). Because the top tab is so tight (okay), that slight stretch around the holes completely prevents them from getting into the rail in the first place (without too much force damaging both pieces). ).Maybe not on a cheaper chain with less tight tolerances, but it has been on a few different brand chains I've had. This flaw was surprisingly the same difference in every product I've received - the span between holes was 5.84-5.88mm throughout (which is great and sufficient for a product of this price), but the material around g -Holes ranged from 6.09 (only one) to 6.16mm (almost all were between 6.14 and 6.16). Given that any decent chain (that size, of course) has a bore between 6.05 and 6.10mm, you can see the problem. I'm sure it's a manufacturing method issue as this error was present on every part - all 16 holes. I gave it no star because this bug is pretty easy to fix and then they work great, well made and the price is fair. But I haven't given him three or more because not everyone has the ability or inclination to do so, and nobody should do it just to get him to perform the only function he's designed for, which is in a T- pursue. .
