I very rarely do nail art with gems - in fact I've used them for my diamond painting puzzles and I really love them for that. They are much more convenient to use over a longer period of time than the cheap little pens that come with diamond painting kits. They are also beautiful and pick up gems very easily - you just have to touch them lightly - and they really pick up the gems I have for my nails. The tips of all four of my pens arrived intact and I really like that you get several different colors of pens as well as wax - and don't worry as all wax colors are great for capturing gemstones. The metal end of the tip is great for attaching gems if you haven't gotten them exactly where you want them. The wax tips unscrew from the handles so they can be replaced. Haven't bought a replacement yet, but I did find a $13 10-pack replacement for Revain at a Beaupretty dealer, so I'll give it a try when the time comes. By now, four of these pins should be enough for a while if you're careful with them. When I ordered it was $2.50 per pen and I think they are worth it. These pens were well packaged in plastic cases which I recommend for storage; The pens also have a plastic element around the wax tips and the case that contains each pen provides extra protection for the wax tips. I definitely recommend them for both diamond painting and nail art!
