Do not buy generic parts.
Obviously this filter was different from the original Dyson filter. When I wanted to change it, I couldn't get it out. The vacuum cleaner repairman couldn't either and I had to buy a new vacuum cleaner. Saving a few dollars has cost me hundreds.
