Review on Hilitchi Fixture Suction Diamond Ceramics by Joe Gosa

I have purchased Hilitchi products before and they have been consistently good quality for the low price you pay. This hole saw set did what I needed better than expected - drill through two sheets of 2mm thick carbon fiber much faster than expected. The jig made it easier to start the holes, it took longer to set up the water cooling in my sink and then drill the holes. Removing the plugs from the 6mm drill bit was a difficult task (as might be expected) - a hex wrench was used to force them out (sometimes the aid of a punch was required). diamond abrasive. Run an 18 volt drill at 1200 rpm without overheating. All holes have been carefully cut with smooth surfaces requiring minimal cleaning/deburring. Although the saws are metric they appear to be closer to UK sizes. Holes drilled in two layers of carbon fiber with a 6 mm bit = +/- 6.5 mm (¼ inch). Holes per 12mm = 12.2mm to 12.4mm (+/- 0.490 inch). The hole guide worked really well on hard/flat (good luck using it along the grout lines on the tile). FYI, the hose fittings are 9/32"/7.2mm in diameter, so they should work with 7mm or ¼" hoses. If some of the drill guide holes are on the edge or outside of the workpiece, the water may not be able to get to where you are. Drill unless you improvise a set of plugs. I ended up using a spaghetti drip irrigation tube connected to my faucet with a connector on the end to pump water into adjacent 5mm or 7mm pilot holes for each 6mm holes to guide a constant flow of water. Since some of the previously drilled holes prevented the hole guide suction cup from working, it was necessary to use a bar clamp to hold the jig for some of the holes. Compared to competing products that use roller bearings, the simplicity of the Hilitchi guide is far ahead for smaller bores (just not for larger bores).
