I used to have an 8500 Escort (until a friend needed it) and this thing saved me from a lot of pike tickets. Yes, there are many false alarms, but the GPS usually maintains the signal for a period of its journey. This radar has saved me many times after only having it for a few months. The range is long and the mount is pretty solid. I had no issues with the mount (knock wood), although I've seen some reviewers have had issues with it. I recommend it for car enthusiasts and anyone with a bit of lead foot.
