I know of various candle making kits including melting pots. The main advantage of this set is that you get different shapes and a small crucible. I enjoy using Crucibles as I find a temperature controlled environment to be extremely important and valuable. The pan in this set doesn't seem to maintain a constant temperature. I set it to the desired temperature (e.g. 180 F) and it heats up to that temperature but then keeps heating up to (230+ F) and doesn't stay at the constant 180 FI it's set at. I would prefer it to stay at the temperature I set it to. Maybe there is a way, but I haven't found it yet. It heats up quickly and is very comfortable to use. I love the shape of the little angel in this set. It's easy to use and works great. You will need to use rubber bands to hold this shape together. I haven't seen rubber bands for this shape. Owl, rabbit and dog are also good. The molds are made of high quality flexible silicone. They are very detailed and also unique. You probably need to have some understanding of how to use the molds and how to make candles as this set is above entry level due to the molds. You need to know how to insert the wick into molds and more. This might be a good choice for those looking for a small crucible, a good set of small molds, and a small amount of wax.
