Linus uses them. Best in Computers & Accessories

I bought 2 of these fans to replace the standard Corsair fans that came with my H100i GTX waterblock. The standard Corsair fans worked quite adequately, but hummed annoyingly even when idling. I'm the type who gets easily annoyed by unwanted noise. I endured fan noise for 3 long years before finally deciding to get other fans. Mind you, it wasn't loud or particularly offensive, it was just noticeable enough to bother me a little. I did some research on fans, pressure, airflow and noise. I decided to buy Noctua Redux fans for several reasons. To be honest and a bit embarrassed the main reason I see Linus Tech Tips is using them almost everywhere. I figured they must be pretty decent when one of the biggest guys in the PC world uses them almost exclusively. They seem to have a good reputation and an excellent warranty so I figured I couldn't go wrong. I chose the Redux line instead of the standard brown fans solely because of the price. YES, I have a multi-thousand computer and save on fans. I know how stupid that sounds. I'm sure the brown ones are great, but c'mon, they're double the price. FOR FANS. I took two 120mm fans and attached them to the heatsink in the same way as the Corsair fans. The fans have a good fit and finish and are clearly of very high quality. The wires are sheathed and incredibly flexible. I'm used to computer cables being a bit stiff, but they are very soft, flexible and long enough. They seem to provide adequate cooling. My CPU temperatures haven't changed much compared to the Corsair fans, but they're noticeably quieter, which was my biggest concern. I'll probably order one of the 140mm fans now to attach to the GPU heatsink. I understand why people love Noctua fans.
