Good monitor with quality control issues

This is a very good monitor from a reputable company at a good price. The colors and resolution are just fantastic. Narrow bezels on the top and sides make it very comfortable to use in a multi-monitor system. However, HP has some quality control issues with this product. I bought two and had to exchange both. One of them had a small defect (which is difficult to fix with the camera, but is very noticeable live): the LED "dot” of the lighting is clearly visible on the lower frame. The second was poorly assembled, with the light plastic cover over the top frame not fully snapping into place in two different places (I only photographed one of those places). If it wasn't for these quality control issues I would have given 5 stars. But return issues definitely affect the enjoyment of the product, and I worry about what other issues might arise later. UPDATE: One of the replacement parts also had a design flaw. The top bezel was not snapped into the white plastic case. Luckily I was able to gently slide it back into place and the screen itself seems fine. However, 2 of the 3 monitors I received had mounting issues.

Pros
  • I use them in my home office. I liked it so much that I bought a second one.
Cons
  • Low Brightness: If the monitor's brightness is set too low, the image may appear washed out or too dark.
