I wanted some small shapes and these stackable shapes caught my attention because the large shapes I have don't stack well on top of each other making them difficult to store. These shapes stack very straight and secure. If a larger stacking opportunity arises, I'll take it and donate what I have to charity. This smaller size is perfect for individual sauces, sauces, au jus, nuts and storing small amounts of leftovers. I also prefer this smaller size for very rich desserts like crème brûlée and my favorite sinful chocolate mousse recipe. For some odd reason, the description doesn't state that these molds can be used in the oven and microwave. It says on the box and I've used it in both the oven and microwave with no problems.
