This product saved my life, it took me 5 minutes to install this thing and get the radio working again . ordinary. I thought it was some sort of tap but I was wrong, it slides over the old antenna and then clips in with a set screw creating a solid mount for you and a new antenna bolt without showing. hidden under a plastic cover around the antenna. I ended up putting a shorter antenna on it and it fit perfectly. To do this, you'll need to put some sandpaper on top of the original antenna's broken stud to create a clean contact surface for the cap. So just take that into account. It was wonderful and I couldn't be happier.
