Good contact putty and very precise dosage

Apply contact putty with a brush. THEN measure things and spend a lot of time doing it. And then prepare to use the second, using the lessons you learned from the first. I think if you had a flange to place on top and a set of 1/4" x 1" screws to secure it for curing the process would be a lot easier.
