Holds the sensor in place and prevents accidental abrasions, stays in place, breathable and removable when I need it. I don't use the back of my arm, I use the front for the Free Style Libre 2's sensor. I currently only have one active arm, so I have a hard time getting dressed and it's very easy to wear while putting on a shirt on one arm. It's very sticky and flexible so it flexes with my skin. It retains water but dries out and does not affect the sensor. It's like one of those breathable cloth patches. "It seems to allow moisture to escape from the skin so it stays put. A patch is valid for 14 days. I exercise/sweat and shower daily. By the 13th or 14th day it will start wanting to loosen up around the edges, which is ideal. So, with my partially functioning arm, removal is not a problem. It also sticks well to the sensor, so I just grab the patch like a pen and pull it off along with the sensor. This makes it easier to work with one hand that doesn't work well.
