So I booted up my car in preparation for the install. This one was already under 0. I prewired and removed the liner for the adhesive backing. He didn't stick. I couldn't tell if the glue made it insignificant because of the cold (you didn't feel any stickiness) or if it wasn't there at all. I applied a high temp silicone gasket to the gasket (as I've heard you still need it for reinforcement). The silicone gasket worked when installing the gasket to the oil pan. I plugged the heating pad into a working outlet and found that it heats well. At the end of the next day, on the way home, I already noticed a tear in the cord, as well as a tear in the strain relief area. Thus, not only is the cable not polarized, but it is also not weather or stress resistant. A little disappointed as I did a great job installing this pad which had issues from the start and throughout use. I expect it may be another day or two before the end of the pen comes off completely and I have to scrape off the heating pad.
