My 1-year-old lab mix was able to pull off all the non-slip backings after spending a while in her drawer. Luckily she doesn't like to eat anything that isn't food, but if that is your dog I wouldn't recommend it. After 2 months I am very happy with it as it holds up much better than blankets or towels. Also, it cleans well. I'll buy a new one as soon as it gets the hang of it and doesn't tear so badly. I wish it came without a non-slip backing. It is not necessary and just inconvenient to clean.
