The treble output is not bass output but labeled right and left speakers and filtered by a high pass filter to match the woofer to the reference volume which is ten decibels more than bass. Loudspeakers as side loudspeakers lower frequencies, but cannot be controlled separately. The only adjustment is the knob labeled "Gain". Thus, one gain controls all output, main, and side speaker volumes simultaneously. The bass is not like a 500 watt system. I think that sums it up with the side channels being 90-100 watts each leaving around 300 watts for the bass channel and speaker. So if that's all you're going to use, bass, don't expect it to be 500 watts. Second, Watt is bullshit if it means "peak power" instead of RMS. I call bull at 500 watts, I'll never believe it's RMS. I think it's a Chinese ad. How powerful is it? It performs well and sounds amazing at very low to very high volumes when paired with my Onkyo TX-8140 driving 8 ohm speakers with a maximum output of around 110W. Its left and right aux line outputs are wired together and routed to this subwoofer for subwoofers only, with no side speaker outputs connected. I don't use them. That's enough to get more mids through the woofer than you'd like, all the way up to 140, and the cutoff is also tuned a lot lower than I'd ever want to use. I think home cinema ammunition is booming, if you will, for theater or gaming, for example. The high output power produces nothing below the mid-range, very effectively filters only high frequencies and thus prevents bass pollution. The bass is amazingly clear and distortion-free. It pairs well with a 100W RMS music system and an 8 ohm stereo system. Can't comment on the purity or quality of the side channels as I haven't used them, but if they're as good as the bass then it's a great gem of a component, not a stand alone 500 watt bass amp. with 500 watts of bass. Less bass than that.
