I needed a decent cooler for my new Ryzen 5 setup, but the mounts for my Hyper 212+ were still not available. That's how I found this nice looking piece of metal and plastic. MSI can even make an attractive CPU cooler. I am impressed. Installation was relatively painless and the instructions were easy to follow. I didn't use the paste that came with it and added some Arctic MX-4 instead. So keep that in mind. It was pretty hot in here, so my last test was in a room with a temperature of 28 degrees. The Spire's temperature reached around 88-89 before the system crashed during Cinebench startup. The Frozr? Same room temperature. Didn't make it through the 70's and has survived 5+ consecutive cine starts with no issues. In a better environment this thing would be ideal for increasing clock/voltage. So! Well done MSI Notes: 1. The instructions are a bit unclear in some places as the screws aren't labeled or anything. Just look at the pictures. Will reach I.2. The fan in the push configuration protrudes beyond the first dimming slot. You can install it higher on the heatsink to free up the RAM slot, or just switch to a pull configuration. Similar cooling results with each of them.
