size larger! I wear 36" jeans and bought a 38" belt. From the seven holes in the belt I come to the third hole. I like the balanced look with plenty of strap that can be inserted into the first strap loop once the strap is secured and locked into place. This belt is odd compared to all the other belts I've bought over the years. Well built and high quality, but the size is definitely bigger!
