Waste of money and time. This thing takes up space and does nothing else. I changed the batteries to make sure she had all the necessary electrical charges and also tried slowly approaching the fly from different angles. But it didn't work no matter what I did and no matter how hard I tried. So I ended up spending just a few dollars on a set of cheap, traditional plastic fly swatters and I was able to kill any fly that came into our house relatively quickly.
