Review on πŸ”“ Unlocking Hassle-free Lubrication: LockNLube Pistol-Grip Grease Gun by Justin Reese

Not what he claims.

First of all, this is not a US product, it is a US assembly with foreign (Chinese?) parts. That's SEVENTY dollars for a device that should have cost between twenty-five and thirty dollars. Why? Continue reading. The build quality of this gun that I received is terrible. The hose taps to the gun swivel and Lock-N-Lube head are made from worn tooling and are maybe halfway out of the rails. A quality part should snap into place. I took it apart a few times thinking it was cross threads as the threads start JUST before they catch ALL the hardware. Terrible build feeling. The threads and/or threaded holes are not made to fit properly. A bolt and grease head is a good idea, but it's BIG and lots and lots of hardware leaves no room for a head this big. . If you have a wide open area around all your Zerks, OK, but DO NOT get rid of your standard Zerk Pistol, you're going to need it, as a new greasy lockable Zerk head won't be all that useful anywhere except for skinning. They ankle in tight places. The thumb lever is FIXED. In a tight fit where you barely touch it with your finger, it takes Konnan strength to push it down far enough to insert the connector. I can do 50 push ups so I'm not that weak. It feels very comfortable, doesn't feel like a high quality piece that slips with use so it's BONS and sticky making it even more difficult to use. Yes, even with lube. The Lock-N-Lube head works well where it fits, but no better than my forty year old 100% USA made 3 ounce mini pistol. It never leaks or pops out. I wanted a 14 ounce gun as the mower uses a lot of lube and those 3 ounce tubes cost $$$. Okay, I have a gun that MUST go anywhere, but marketing sold an idea that hasn't actually materialized yet, it's too big and stiff to use a lock and lube in a confined space. What now? I am in the market to REMOVE and REPLACE this so-called "perk" for even more money. When I get the right ZERK head, this lube goes into the novelty box and will never be used again. I can drill and screw a dumb Zerk fitting into ANY grease gun to wrap the hose around the packaging when not in use. . That retention feature and lock-and-lube head aren't worth the $40 extra price compared to $25-$30 guns on the market. Made with well-worn Chinese tools, just as quality is said to be. WHERE is the premium I paid in this tool? It doesn't exist if every Chinese fake is just as good, even better, even if the tool FITS all places where zerk is installed, not lock-n-lube. Would I buy again? NEVER, EVER, as it can't be that expensive in almost ALL cases. It's about as CHEAP as the Chinese knockoffs I've seen (worse, those threaded connections, to be honest!), gets CHEAP, and the main "features" left to consider are mostly a problem than not. Okay, the handy bracket for holding the hose is fine, but you can buy any grease gun and install it and do it for 75 cents. I'll be really pissed if it's not made in the USA. It's just a high priced facade product that looks like it was made in the USA. You need to speak to someone who has produced third-party parts before. Worse still, Lock-n-Lube has to test the material they receive for excellent fit and finish to charge seventy bucks for this gun. It works if I rebuild it into a regular $30 gun. Putting on a lock and lube is hard work and it's not where it should be with so many zerk stains it's more like... feel like you got lucky punk? Not the best tool and way overpriced after you REMOVE that so called gun feature. "works" if it can be used. I'll give it, but that's all. Buy a CHEAP Chinese shotgun and TRY the SLR head if you want, it can be bought separately and space allows. The rest of the gun isn't good, being a cheap Chinese counterpart. Not very keen on what "manufactured" or even "quality-assured" means in America today.
