No 1500 watts in my experience

I bought this inverter to use in my van with an all electric kitchen (induction cooker, small microwave etc). I usually run my devices with a Bluetti solar generator. I had a smaller inverter that I used to charge my Bluetti while driving, but I wanted a larger inverter so I could power my microwave (total power input 950W) and induction hob (variable power from 100 to 1800W) when my house battery ran out. short. On those occasions I would start my van's engine and use the inverter for short cooking tasks like heating up a soup or making a grilled cheese sandwich. I figured that 1500 watts of continuous use with 3000 watts of power should be enough for these tasks as I've never run the induction hob at full power (between 500 and 1000 watts). Turn on the microwave or induction hob. I hooked up a "Kill a Watt" meter and found that it would be in the 900-1000 watt range. Thus, it turns out that from a practical point of view it is actually an inverter with a power of less than 1000 watts. The price is still acceptable for a 1000W pure sine wave inverter, but it doesn't meet my needs. If it's mislabeled (in my opinion) I'm worried about the quality of the internals. Warning.

  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
