After getting fingertip irritation while using the MacBook trackpad (had to research it and I'm glad I'm not the only one!) I decided to buy a case for it. It's relatively cheap and it works! There is a fingernail-thick gap on the edge of the lid, which actually helped with the installation. Please note that there are two protective films on the cover and these are labeled so you know which to remove first. That would be my suggestion for installation - dry cover installation to get an idea of the placement. - Clean your trackpad and clean it again. Even small dust particles affect the overall finish. Remove the first protective film and KEEP ONLY THE EDGE OF THE COVER. Keep your fingers away from the sticky surface to avoid fingerprints. Estimate the distance from the edge of the trackpad (I used my fingernail as I knew it would be the same distance from the edge on the other side of the tablet and being right handed it was easier for me to work on the right ) and insert the first half inch or so and gently press in. Using the cardboard sleeve that the lid came in, flatten the lid as you slowly place it on the trackpad, walking about half an inch at a time. This will help avoid large bubbles, but don't press too hard at this point. - With the lid on, check for small bubbles and squeeze them out completely. - Remove the second protective film and use cardboard. Smooth the lid from the center outwards to help it stick and also remove any remaining air bubbles. Enjoy! After reading other reviews I don't understand why there are so many problems with air bubbles. . If the product is already flawless or the trackpad is not completely clean, there will be bubbles when you apply it as the case is just a thin, very flat sheet of plastic. It feels very comfortable, almost the same texture as the trackpad. The size and shape are pretty lifelike, and once installed I can't even see the lid. Due to the thickness, the trackpad is flush with the wrist rest. The way the track reacts hasn't changed, but I have a guy that clicks when clicked - I don't know how it reacts to a guy you just "click to click". Just take the time to tweak it - it's a great product (and no, I'm not getting paid for this review - that's my own unbiased opinion).
