Item comes with a hook and an adhesive gel dot to secure the hook to lock space. It seemed perfect when I placed it on my desk which has an edge for the hook to hang at a 90 degree angle. But after I unhooked the bag for the first time, it lifted off the table and fell to the floor. I would suggest it as a travel hook rather than one you will leave in place. It's solid with the table surface, I wouldn't recommend leaving it in place as a hook. On a surface with a flat side around the edge, such as a B. a filing cabinet, it is less stable. Most likely it will fall from the surface. I was disappointed because I really only used it 2 days for what I bought it for, a hook to hang my bag at work so it doesn't touch any surfaces. You can probably buy a command strip to use in place of the supplied glue, but the rubber piece that sits on top will fall off anyway.
