Bought to replace an old (still) Dell LCD as the backlight was starting to bother me a lot. White spots where the fluorescent light was concentrated interfered with the image processing. It wasn't possible to lower the brightness from 100 because it gave me a lot of headaches, a known problem with older LCD screen technology. So. It's time for something new with better backlight control. I saw a 27 inch Samsung similar to the model I bought from Revain at a local store and the difference in color fidelity between it and the Dell was pretty good. I couldn't get a local one before the sale so I ordered from Revain instead. I am satisfied with the panel and display quality. The only nits I have to pick (I'm not a professional artist so the color quality is fine me) are the lightweight plastic stand and the pivoting hinges at the base on the back wall. Like me, I don't have a backlight headache, 27-inch is a nice improvement over Dell's 22-inch, menu navigation is reasonable, Samsung uses half the power of Dell (25W vs. 50W), and I only paid a little more with shipping than the local retail price All-round good deal.
