I bought this as a backup for my current 300Mbps dual band WiFi router which is starting to to go crazy. I'd rather have a backup after testing that it works well as a replacement for my current router rather than buying a new one if the current one dies and my network downtime suffers while I check out the new one. .All I need is to connect it at the maximum speed of the protocols my devices use: 802.11n, g, a, using both bands at the same time. Everything else is the icing on the cake. ProsEasy setup, plug and play even without included instructions, just follow one instruction: insert the CD first, then follow the instructions on the CD. I just took out my old router and put it in its place. using all the old cables. Nice streamlined design, it basically looks like a 6 inch plastic sheet. two areas at the same time. Excellent reception: 802.11n > 100Mbps at 2GHz, 170-200Mbps at 5GHz! 5/5 lanes up to 30 feet away, no line of sight and through drywall I can stream media uninterrupted I connected all my devices with ease Passed Steve Gibson's security test suite Low cost Cons Limited firewall, URL blocking options Limited network monitoring options Compared to my old one Router, which showed the traffic on each radio, the bandwidth consumed, the ability to fine-tune QoS and its firewall, this router offers good functionality without such options. I can monitor network traffic with other tools. This router is basic but does the basic connectivity work and is highly secure but lacks notifications about what it's doing. It has the advantage that the 5GHz band is almost 2x faster than my old router, so I'll be using it as the primary and the 7750 as a backup now.
