Very bright, many modes. Filaments of light on thin metal wires. They are not fragile but can easily get tangled. Even after the stairwell incident, I acted as discreetly as possible. I accidentally put the lead of my ladder on the end of a strand and cut it short. However, the rest of the cut thread still works! They are bright and work outdoors. (Stayed there for a few months.) I didn't use the remote much because I use the vacation timer. But I would recommend them and/or buy more if needed. As I wrap them, I gently wrap a strand around my fingers, wrapping the last few inches of thread around the bun to hold it in place. After each strand is wrapped, I gently wrap the connecting wires (insulated, no metal strands) around my shoulder/elbow, then put them back in the box.
