I was looking for an inexpensive router that would do basic things like web browsing, TV streaming, casual online gaming, and setting up Alexa-enabled devices. I live in an apartment that comes with standard WiFi for all tenants. The preinstalled router was very old, had trouble disconnecting while watching my favorite TV shows, and was cumbersome to set up smart devices. I have been working from home. I wanted something more reliable with a Wi-Fi signal. I had no issues with lag or disconnects. A new job meant more money, so I decided to upgrade everything with smart plugs and other Alexa-enabled devices. I ran into an issue where I couldn't connect to wifi as my old one required a password as well as some other secondary authentication (usually by opening a web browser for a separate username and password). This router solved that problem and also gave me an option for a 2.4 or 5G signal. My work computer stays connected and I can now ask Alexa to turn on the coffee maker while I'm still in bed. It was worth the money. I didn't need anything out of the ordinary and wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary, so given those expectations it gets 5 stars.
