I own a lot of cheap to expensive headphones but this might be the best value for money headphones I've ever seen. Build quality is good at any price point, almost perfect for a $50 can set. The ear pads are nicer vinyl and I don't think they can be upgraded (I haven't tried to pull them off). They are listed as overhead and closed, and they are. Even some of my more expensive headphones barely fit on the ear. The AKGs are large enough to wrap gently around your ear, while the closed back and gasket seal out outside noise and keep your music in check. The cable is long enough and comes with a 3.5mm screw adapter so you can use it in your console or headphone amp. The sound is very neutral and excellent. Bassists won't like them, but I think that's what beats are for. You can easily listen to them for many hours without getting tired. They have a large side and don't fold when traveling, making them more suitable for listening at home or on very long flights.
