I have bought several different 1.5" heavy duty straps - different types of buckle options. I think this is the most flexible option and fastest to open when needed. The main thing with this belt is to use it for its intended purpose - like any other belt we don't put the buckle through the loops - also on this belt. I'm a short person so the belt was still way longer than I wanted. I cut it off leaving me about 6 inches of extra belt length using a round blade knife cutting it very cleanly and then heat sealing the new cut edge. I thread the belt through the loops like any other belt. THEN, once it's passed through the part that snaps into the main part of the buckle and fits snugly against it, I can unbuckle the buckle (to change clothes - in the toilet, etc.). When it's time to remove the belt, unbuckle it from the buckle like any other belt and it will pop right out like any other belt.
