I use them for everything except barbed wire work. I have horses, chickens and an oil well to tend. When fiddling with firewood, turning a wrench or plugging in farm equipment, they protect my hands and I can still do great work such as carving. B. screwing a nut onto a screw. Without measuring your hands, it's hard to talk about fit. I wear size 12 boots and a size 8 hat at 5'10, I can just hold a basketball and they fit like a glove lol seriously like a second skin and I have no room left. Maybe the basketball analogy works. If you can run across the court with the ball in one hand, grab a very big one. Fingers separate. If I smeared them with crude oil and then rubbed them with dirt, that could probably loosen the threads. But my leather gloves have lasted longer than they did six months ago and I'll be looking elsewhere. Good gloves if you protect them from oil products. I kept them for a few more months before they fell apart completely. *** Good gloves if used responsibly, no salt water, no crude oil.
