Review on Silicon Power DDR4 16GB Kit (8GB X2) 3200MHz (PC4-25600) CL22 UDIMM 288-Pin Desktop Memory by Jonathan Olson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The RAM was defective or not supported by the motherboard

The XMP on my motherboard, an MSI z170a M3, didn't want to interact with this RAM. I loaded the RAM with default settings which the motherboard read as no XMP (i.e. 2666MHz). I checked in every slot and everything was ok. When I tried to run Ram in XMP. Forget it. I would keep it, but the lower speed RAM costs less and my 2400 RAM is already clocked at 2800MHz. Obviously XMP boards love G.skill. I'd ask for a replacement instead of a refund, but I'm just not interested in three refund requests this month. SP is a good brand. I love their CDs and I've only had one issue out of 6 and they treated me very well with it. Maybe I'll try them as my DDR modules of choice on the next system (if we ever get to buy GPUs at normal prices again).
