Review on Enhance Your USB Speed with the Sonnet Allegro Pro USB 3.2 Type A PCIe Card: Four SuperSpeed 10Gbps USB Connectors by Mark Hart

Encrypted directories on 3 drives and killed one.

At first I was very happy to get a "professional" USB 3 PCI card from a well known brand like Sonnet. But eventually I started having mysterious system crashes. Then the encryption of the directory structures of the connected drives began. Some have been restored. Some weren't. Since some of the attached drives were over a few years old, I figured they might be outdated. But these were ultra-premium G-Drive HD drives that typically last much longer than cheaper HD drives. Then the critical disk failed and the directory could not be restored. So I had to rush to buy a new drive from my local Best Buy store and install it over the Sonnet card. After 3 days he had also encrypted a directory! I pulled out the Sonnet USB hub. Since then no problems. While I can't pinpoint a direct cause and effect, I didn't have these issues BEFORE installing Sonnet. And since then none. Draw your own conclusions. I buy another brand.
