Review on πŸ’‘ BEM Single Output Transformer 14840DA, 3 Phase, 32V/24V, Input: 480V by Flavio Iyer

In use for over a year

I currently have a 40 amp version running which switches anti-sweat heaters in the fridge compartment (loading approx 20 amps at 115 volts). Depending on the ambient humidity detected by the controller, it may turn on, off, or fluctuate between the two states several times per minute throughout the day. So far it's done it with no issues, 24/7 365. Pretty impressed considering the price. This was a lot cheaper than replacing the entire controller after the original electromechanical relay smoked. One thing to note about these solid state relays, they get HOT. Pay attention to the correct cooling. Even sitting in a cooler at 40F, the attached heatsink gets very hot. It would probably be a good idea to omit the heatsink for loads under a few amps (depending on the voltage of course). Running through a 60-watt incandescent bulb produced no noticeable heat after an hour. When I received it, I experienced an inner climax. Large solder traces between screw terminals and triac (BTA41). Opto-isolator and anti-tracking slots between AC and DC side. The insulating layer on the circuit board is very thin. I'm not an electrical engineer but the design seems fine. nope Good enough for me? Of course. And that might be enough for you too.
