Review on IKEMOTO SEN-705-BL Seduce Hair Care Brush (L)From Japan: Achieve Effortlessly Beautiful Hair! by Laura Walters

I bought this brush because I thought it would help massage and improve my dry scalp. Instead, I understand that it's more like a boar bristle brush and the bristles are very scratchy and not very soft. The bristles are grouped into sections of longer and shorter bristles, with the longer bristles having a nice rounded curve at the end that is soft to the touch, while the shorter bristles have flat, sharp edges. This is deceptive, because it doesn't look like a boar bristle brush in the photos, but it actually works like a boar bristle brush. The shorter, sharper bristles pull and smooth out the top layers of your hair, making it difficult to comb through layers of thick hair unless you brush in small sections. It also stretches out the waves/curls, which isn't great. The other downside to sharp bristles is that they flake my dry scalp like crazy - to be honest I feel like I'm running my nails over my scalp which isn't the gentle massaging effect I'm hoping for. Maybe this works better for thinner straight hair (which, like a comb for Japanese/Asian hair, would make sense). I will still keep this blow out brush but I still go back on my quest for a good head massage brush.
