I had to connect to a very thin, very short and difficult to access cable. There was no way to get enough wires to use a butt connector or crimp cap, let alone put a large crimping tool in there. It was perfect, I cut the wire and created a jumper using my own wiring. I was able to slip it over the wire and hold it while I crimped it with a small needle nose pliers. The teeth are excellent for piercing insulation and holding it in place. Before the installation I did a lot of tests. Even when I curled it lightly to moderately, I still had connectivity. It didn't work until I did a really weak crimp, but it was deliberately mediocre with my attempt. Verdict: If you need something for thin, hard-to-reach cables, this is it.
